The choice of where to begin can feel daunting for anyone new to the world of colour. Being confronted with rows of paints in an art shop is often overwhelming, and can even prevent you from starting at all.

This difficulty can be easily overcome by working with a limited palette. All you need are the three primary colours—red, blue, and yellow—along with white. Many professional artists have worked in this way over the years.
